I recently tried out skydiving over the weekend, and realised I’ve done a fair few adrenaline seeking activities in Australia. Everyone thinks of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House when it comes to Australia, but what about the heart-stopping things to do?! Check out my favourite adrenaline adventures!

What more could send your adrenaline rushing than free falling at speeds up to 200km/hr for a heart stopping 60 seconds?! You’ll well and truly get a bird’s eye view from 15,000 feet in the sky, check out the beautiful landscapes of Australia from the best seat in the house. As I live in Sydney and love the beach, I decided to go with Skydive Sydney-Wollongong due to convenience and it offers New South Wales closest skydive to the beach! It was a great experience and the complimentary shuttle transfer from the city to the “drop zone” was a nice touch.

As a mountain biking enthusiast, the perfect spot for me is the Snowy Mountains during the warmer months where there’s no snow! Sounds odd going to the Snowy Mountains minus all the snow…but once the snow has all melted into streams and lakes, what is unveiled is a mountain bikers dreams. What usually are ski runs in the winter, become fantastic mountain biking trails that take you through the mountain landscape. The tracks range from beginners to seasoned professional trails, and the lifts once used for skiing are fully equipped to carry you and your bike up the mountain!

A few years ago, I visited the beautiful South Australia and got to experience swimming with great white sharks. Till this day it is one of my favourite adrenaline activities! To be able to get up close and personal with the top of the ocean food chain! The best thing is you don’t need any diving qualifications of any sort to able to experience this, just book into the day trip and let the pros take care of the rest.

An honourable mention goes out to swimming with whale sharks in Ningaloo reef. Although not as adrenaline packed as swimming with the carnivorous great whites, the whale sharks are equally as stunning and breathtaking to swim amongst.

Ever wanted to realise your dream of becoming a V8 Supercar racer, or just wanted to feel the way Vin Diesel feels in the Fast and Furious franchise? For me it was the latter, and I sure did feel it! I’m not much of a car aficionado so I can’t exactly say what type of car I drove, etc. But I do know I reached speeds that go far beyond the standard road rules. The first few laps were especially nerve racking as I was scared of slipping and crashing, but all was well by the end of the hour!
